Landmark Productions and Octopus Theatricals, Ireland and USA

Theatre for One

18 - 23 December 2020

Booking Information

Note: We are delighted that the Government has approved a limited run of Theatre for One in December. The Abbey Theatre and Dublin Theatre Festival will do our best to accommodate as many customers, who were to attend the postponed original run in Autumn, within this very limited run. We will be in touch with all ticket holders in the coming days.

Dates: 18 – 23 December

Maximum capacity of one individual per performance

Tickets: Free, but ticketed

Running Time: Approx. five mins

Please note: If you do not have a ticket, you will not gain access. Please do not come to the performance if you do not have an assigned ticket.

Given the audience capacity, we anticipate significant demand for this production. If you cannot make it to your allotted performance time, please contact box office by phone or email to relinquish your ticket so it can be transferred to another audience member.

One ticket allows you to see one play. To see multiple plays, you need to book multiple tickets.

Six leading Irish playwrights present original, five minute plays, performed by one actor for one audience member.

Theatre for One is a mobile state-of-the-art performance space for one actor and one audience member at a time.

Conceived and created by the Olivier award-winning designer Christine Jones and designed by LOT-EK architects, it is part peep-show booth, part confessional, and completely visceral.

Produced by Landmark Productions and Octopus Theatricals, it features short plays by six of Ireland’s leading writers – Marina Carr, Stacey Gregg, Emmet Kirwan, Louise Lowe, Mark O’Rowe and Enda Walsh – in ‘theatre distilled to its purest, most intense version, then injected directly into the vein’ (The Irish Times).

Presented by the Abbey Theatre and Dublin Theatre Festival, supported by Accenture and Dublin City Council.
