With this on-demand recording, traverse the depths of the destroyed buildings of O’Connell Street to explore one of the most contentious elements of our difficult past and its legacy in the present
Innovative multidisciplinary theatre makers, ANU, in partnership with the Abbey Theatre, excavated the final moments of the Battle of Dublin in HAMMAM, a powerful, immersive play written and directed by Louise Lowe.
Staged in a totally re-imagined Peacock Theatre, audiences traversed the depths of the destroyed buildings of O’Connell Street to explore one of the most contentious elements of Ireland’s difficult past and its enduring legacy in the present.
This summer, ANU and the Abbey Theatre are delighted to announce that a digital recording of this critically acclaimed and sold out show will be available to watch between the 18th of July and the 8th of August. HAMMAM was the final project of ANU’s commemorations of the Decade of Centenaries – don’t miss the opportunity to experience this moving and important piece of theatre whenever or wherever suits you.
