The term of office for the current Chair of the Abbey Theatre Board, Dr. Frances Ruane, expires on Sunday, 28th July 2024. This is as per the warrant of the additional two-year appointment which was issued on Friday, 29th July 2022, effective from that date.

Expressions of interest are now invited from applicants who believe that they possess the skills and experience necessary to fill the role of Chair of the Board of the Abbey Theatre. The appointment, which is for a four year term,  will be made by the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. 

The application process involves the submission of a curriculum vitae and a cover letter outlining the specific expertise the candidate would bring to the role of the Chair. 

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, 12th July 2024.
